Recipe Directions

  • 1. Get your orange zest off an orange before you peel it. The easiest way to get fresh orange zest is to simply use a clean orange peeler to shave a bit of orange peel off. Collect 1 tbsp's worth.
  • 2. Peel your oranges well using a knife. Cut off most of the white rind so that you just have nice, glistening oranges with very little white rind left.
  • 3. Add all ingredients to your high-speed blender.
  • 4. Blend well.
  • 5. Enjoy your raw orange smoothie!

The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

Raw orange smoothie recipe - I was craving a creamy orange smoothie today for some reason. Not sure why! So I put my thinking cap on about what would make this smoothie burst with orange flavour - while at the same time being super smooth and creamy. And here's what I came up with!

It's very easy to make, and the consistency is super creamy and orangy. Note: This is best made with a high-speed blender since oranges can be difficult to get to a smooth consistency in a standard blender due to their fibrous consistency.

Enjoy this raw orange smoothie recipe when you're craving a creamsicle! This recipe makes one serving -- perfect for a snack or dessert.

Hi Illie, one of the greatest weight loss tips is to eat MORE healthy stuff first.    So find some tasty healthy food that you LOVE. For me, it started with fresh fruit, like grapes, blueberries and fresh strawberries.  :)  Focus on GOOD healthy stuff. That is the first step.

I tried a raw food diet some years ago. It seemed quite boring eating fruit and salad all the time. Thank goodness I came across your web site :) Your recipes look extra yummy. I feel quite positive in eating raw again. .There are so many health benefits. I need to lose weight, what would you suggest? Thanks.

Hi again Vlpanfried - strange. Perhaps your dried coconut is different than mine? That really is my photo so I was able to get it to work with my set-up and following the directions as written :)

I have type 2 diabetes. Is this smoothie okay or do you have better smoothies for someone like me? I'm starting out 75% raw right now

Hi Jennifer, I cannot advise you on what smoothies/recipes would be best for you. Perhaps a dietician or doctor?

Good for you for going 75% raw - that's a good goal. :)

Do you think you can add milk or different milks instead of juice?

Many thanks , for sharing your wonderful recipes : ) answer to Marina ,I have a nutri bullet and a high speed blender. ( optimum ) both are brilliant . The blender for large volume blending ,nut milks and butters ,smoothies.however for smaller quanities my nutri bullet does an amazing job of blending including kale to a smooth consistency. Hopes this helps.
